Mozambican pastor dies on 25th day of 40-day fasting to break Jesus’ record

“Do not put the Lord your God to the test” – A Mozambican pastor Francisco Barajah, founder of the Santa Trindade Evangelical Church has died after dry fasting for 40 days trying to reach the record set by Jesus Christ.

His death was confirmed on Wednesday by the church. He died while being treated at hospital in Beira where he was evacuated in critical condition.

After 25 days of fasting, he had lost a lot of weight to the point where he could not stand up, bathe or walk. At the insistence of relatives and believers, he was taken to a hospital but attempts to get him back to health were unsuccessful, which eventually led to his death.

Similar event happened in 2019 after a 46-year-old Nigerian Evangelist Chidi Eke died while fasting for 40 days and nights. Evangelist Eke claimed he got a call from God asking him to go into ministry. Unfortunately for him, he only managed to did 21 days out of the 40-day dry fasting before his death.
