Caritas Sierra Leone Launches Its 2022-2026 Strategic Plan With The Theme ‘A New Beginning For a Brighter Future’

Caritas Sierra Leone, established in 1981 on the basis to serve as the relief and development wing of the Catholic Church in Sierra Leone, has on the 22 April 2022 launched its Strategic Plan 2022-2024 with a focus on what it says “The six strategic pillars” which are: Institutional capacity strengthening, sustainability and availability; integral and human development; advocacy and influence to support the work of the organization; climate resilience, emergency and humanitarian crisis response; governance and development; and migration, human trafficking and vulnerability.

As you know, Good Friday means good news. The Sick Pikin Project Good Friday Street Fundraising Campaign held on the 15th of April 2022, joined by meaningful change-makers in Sierra Leone has, having raised Le 26 million from the streets of Freetown, fully paid the medical bill of 16-year-old Mohamed Belley who is set to be operated on his fractured leg he sustained in an accident with a vehicle.

Spanish side SD Huesca terminates contract with Kelechi Nwakali because he represented Nigeria at the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon

Spanish La Liga 2 club, SD Huesca has terminated the contract they had with Nigerian midfielder Kelechi Nwakali because he represented Nigeria at the just concluded African Cup of Nations in Cameroon. Kelechi Nwakali says the club axed his contract because he was called up to play for Nigeria “against their will”, and also owed him wages.
