Video: Honest Taxi Driver Returns 14 Million Leones To The Rightful Owner

As difficult as things are right now, it would be very hard for the average man to be honest and live a truthful and honest life. But for this taxi driver, even though things are difficult and the country’s economy is in ICU, he doesn’t let money control him and bring out the bad in him. Rather, he showed us that not all eggs are bad eggs.

The story of a taxi driver in Ghana who returned over GH¢8,400 (Le 14,100,000) to a passenger he took has caused mixed reactions on social media platforms. According to reports and the video shared online by a Twitter handle, the passenger, a fishmonger, chartered the driver last Friday, May 6, and forgot her money in the cab.

This could have been a life-changing moment for the necessitous taxi driver who probably is living an average life. He could have used the money for other purposes that could have changed his story, but he didn’t. Instead, upon seeing the money in the car the following day, this good samaritan driver returned it to the woman in her house, where she dropped her off earlier on.

During the handing over of the money to the fishmonger, onlookers couldn’t help to hold back their emotions as they recorded the moment. Since then, the video of the fishmonger and driver has since gone viral on Ghana’s social media, with many Ghanaians praising the cab driver for his good deed whilst some have also suggested that he be rewarded with some cash for his integrity. Others have called for the Government of Ghana to reward the honest man for his service.

With people like him, indeed there is hope for the continent of Africa.
