People That Inspire Magazine released January edition featuring inspiring African stories and culture

People That Inspire Magazine, an African magazine based in Sierra Leone, West Africa, has released its January 2022 edition featuring inspiring African stories and culture. The magazine, started by a young Sierra Leonean named Brian Karnue who currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief, in September 2021 is, arguably one of the best magazines in the Sub-region.

The Door of No Return: How 20 Million Africans Passed Through This Door As Slaves To The Americas And Europe

Goree Island, home to ‘The Door of No Return’, is a tiny 45-acre island that is located approximately 3 kilometres (2 miles) off the coast of Dakar, the capital of Senegal. The Island is home to one of the oldest sites of European settlement on the African coast, and once the center of the West African slave trade with an estimated 20 million Africans passing through the Island between 1536-1848 to work on plantations in Europe and the Americas.

Leone Stars of Sierra Leone execute the best performance we have seen at the ongoing African Cup of Nations, so far. It was a sterling performance by the West African nation against the Desert Foxes and defending champions Algeria, as Sierra Leone made their first African Cup of Nations appearance in 26 years! Goalkeeper Mohamed N Kamara (Fabianski), 22, was the star of the match, with a stunning performance against the likes of Riyadh Mahrez.
