AFROBASKET – The semi-finals are known

We know the posters of the semi-finals of the 30th edition of the Men’s Afrobasket Rwanda 2021 which will take place this Saturday, September 4 at the Kigali Arena. Reigning African champion, Tunisia will be opposed to Cape Verde, while Senegal will rub shoulders with Ivory Coast.

There are only four selections left for the title conquest. These are the lessee of the title, Tunisia, Cape Verde, Senegal and Ivory Coast. What talented teams! The first shock of this square of Aces will put Tunisia in Cape Verde.

Sacred twice (2011 and 2015), Tunisia released South Sudan (80-65) in the quarterfinals and is still focusing on the quest for a third continental crown.
But to get there the Eagles of Carthage get rid of the formidable formation of Cape Verde.
Impressive so far, the blue sharks flew over Group B before eliminating Uganda in the quarterfinals (79-71). The islanders who have not taken part in the competition since 2015 do not intend to stop there and dream of a first continental trophy.

Lions and Elephants, thirst for a trophy

On the other hand, the other semi-final will oppose two selections weaned from the title for a long time. If Senegal is running behind a sixth continental coronation since 1997, Ivory Coast, for its part, is witnessing a second title of African champion after that of 1985 won at home, in Abidjan. Suffice to say that these semi-finals promise great battles.

Semi-finals program :

Saturday September 4th
12 p.m. Tunisia – Cape Verde
3 p.m. Senegal – Ivory Coast
