Black Panther Star Angela Bassett Sets Record As The Highest Paid African American Actress In America

64 years old Angela Basset, one of the stars in the Black Panther movie has become the highest-paid African American actress in network television history.

Angela Bassett’s incredible 38 years of acting career have won her several awards and recognitions. She has starred in top-grossing movies over the years, making her one of America’s most talented actors.

In 1993, Bassett won her first Golden Globe Award, winning the ‘Best Actress’ for her role in the movie “What’s Love Got to Do with It”.

In January 2023, she won her second Golden Global Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for Black Panther. She is the first marvel actor to win a Golden Globe Award.

She also holds a Screen Actors Guild Award (Outstanding Cast for Black Panther), two Critics’ Choice Awards, as well as seven Emmy Awards and a BAFTA Award.

Angela Bassett’s incredible career has finally earned her an all-time record after she successfully renegotiated her salary for featuring in the TV series “9-1-1” to make her earn a whopping $450,000 per episode.

According to Vanity Fair, her $450,000 salary is historic and could see her become one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood history and the highest-paid black African American actress

“That is believed to be among the top salaries on network television for any actor — male or female — and could be the highest ever for an actress of color on a broadcast drama series,” the Outlet reported.
