Ethiopian Airlines Wins Best Airline In Africa 2021

The ”Oscars of airlines”, Skytrax, has revealed its 2021 World Airline Awards, naming Ethiopian Airlines as the best airline in Africa.

The 2021 SKYTRAX World Airline Awards has awarded Ethiopian Airlines the Best Airline In Africa making it four times in a row for the airline.

Founded on December 21st, 1946, as a military aircraft, the airline has grown to become one of the world’s largest carriers with a fleet of 130 aircraft, and one of the best in the world. The airline also made it to the list of SKYTRAX Top 100 World Airlines, sitting at number 37 above China Airways, Brussels Airlines, and Malaysia Airlines.

Keeping up with the same phase as before Covid had been a challenging task. Despite significant setbacks to the global aviation industry, Ethiopian Airlines is continuing to grow and is setting its sights far past this crisis. To combat the global pandemic, Ethiopian Airlines played a critical role during the height of the pandemic. In April 2021, the airline’s cargo division: Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services, Africa’s largest cargo service provider, delivered 2.184 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine through the COVAX global vaccine-sharing initiative. six months later the airline’s cargo delivered 50 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines to more than twenty countries.

Ethiopian Airlines have firmly established themselves as the Best Airline in Africa by winning this award for the fourth consecutive year. It is a strong recognition for both the management and all of their front-line staff who contribute to the success of the Ethiopian Airlines customer experience.

Ethiopian Airlines are not the only winners from Africa. Royal Air Maroc and RwandAir all won an award each – Royal Air Maroc won Best Regional Airline in Africa, RwandAir won Best Airline Staff in Africa. After winning it three times, South African Airlines missed out on the top spot this year by taking the second spot.
