Nigeria | Beautiful Nigerian Female Police Officer wins boxing championship in London

Mary Yetunde Aina, a young and beautiful Nigerian female police officer has melted the hearts of social media users after winning the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) International Super Bantamweight Belt.

Mary Yetunde defeated Laura Pain from the United Kingdom to win the much-celebrated title. The viral fight which captured the attention of millions of social media users was held on Friday 18 February 2022 at the City Coast Center in Portslade, East Sussex, London.

The Nigerian Police administration has reacted to Yetunde’s victory on Friday. The Inspector-General of the Nigerian Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba has showered praises on the officer for her great courage in the face of a tense fight.

In his statement, Mr Usman Alkali Baba said Mary Yetunde has made an outstanding mark in the world of boxing by clinching the WBF title against her British opponent, Laura Pain. The IGP also urged sports enthusiasts in the Nigerian Police Force to persevere in the area of skill development in sports.

Mary Yetunde Aina currently serves at the Lagos State Police Command Unit. Mary Yetunde Aina has made a mark in the police force and has succeeded in distinguishing herself by winning many awards and recognition at the amateur level of boxing where she has also been a referee.
