Sierra Leonean Designer Ishmael Brima Koroma Wins Universe Fashion Industry Leadership Award 2025

Sierra Leonean fashion entrepreneur Ishmael Brima Koroma, CEO and Founder of NEEKS Fashion, has been honoured with the Universe Fashion Industry Leadership Award 2025 in Malaysia, cementing his position as one of the leading African names in international fashion.

Mr. Koroma, who is based in Malaysia, has become a notable figure in the global fashion world, especially within the Sierra Leonean diaspora. His work has helped to elevate Sierra Leonean fashion on the international stage through innovation, mentorship, and business growth.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s of Science in Management. He is also a philanthropist and an international award-winning designer, previously recognised at the Pride of Africa Asia Pacific Awards 2024 in Beijing, China, for Outstanding Achievement in Fashion and Design.

Through NEEKS Fashion, Mr. Koroma has created opportunities for young designers, promoted Sierra Leonean fashion brands, and inspired investment into the creative industry. His efforts continue to strengthen diaspora connections, support artisans, and build pride in Sierra Leone’s cultural identity.

His latest win at the Universe Fashion Industry Leadership Award marks another milestone for Sierra Leone’s growing influence in global fashion and highlights the impact of African designers on international platforms.
