18-year-old Ghanaian High School Graduate Frederick Abila Creates New ‘Twitter’ App With Free Verification

Frederick Abila

18-year-old Ghanaian High School graduate, Frederick Abila has developed a new Twitter-like application called Buzz Chat to rival Twitter. The platform already has over 5,000 users. The app is available for iOs and Android users and it’s currently in the top 100 social networking apps on the Apple app store.

The app is a modern social networking platform that allows users to express themselves in many ways. Buzz Chat allows users to perform their basic social activities like posting on feeds, sending messages, liking and sharing people’s content, etc. Buzz Chat also stands out with an amazing feature which notifies users every time a particular user visits their profile at the time they visited their profile and it offers Advertising credits for all new users who join.

The platform already has 5k users and the 18-year-old says he wants to grow Buzz Chat and make it a household name in the tech industry within the next five years.

In an interview with Tales Of Africa, Frederick narrates his inspiration behind creating Buzz Chat. He said, “I decided to make Buzz Chat because I realized that there are a lot of platforms that are not available in Africa and I chose a social media site because I figured that one day, Africa can be deprived of social media. So we need to have alternatives that we can use.”

With his new platform, Frederick is already dreaming of creating jobs for his fellow Ghanaians. He said, “I want to be able to employ a lot of people in Ghana and have Buzz Chat become a very common name. Currently, I’m the only person running all the apps and the website as well. That’s my vision for the next three years.”
