The 21st edition of the Beach Soccer World Cup kicks off this Thursday in Russia. Four matches will be played on the opening day of the competition. The reigning African champions, Senegal, enters the competition tomorrow Friday against the South Americas Uruguay. Then Mozambique, the other representative of the African continent will start the competition this Thursday with a duel against Spain.
The opening match will see the United Arab Emirates plays against Tahiti, Paraguay will face Japan. Then the United States will challenge Russia, the host country and two-times world champions, in 2011 and 2013. For the fourth match, Mozambique, vice-champions of Africa, will face Spain.
The Lions will compete in their seventh Beach Soccer World Cup. Al Seyni Ndiaye’s teammates will play against Uruguay this Friday at 12 p.m. Ngalla Sylla’s men will face the reigning world champion Portugal on Sunday, August 22.
Senegal will end the group stage on Tuesday, August 24, against Oman – a team recently beaten by Senegal at the Dubai Tournament, which Senegal, the African champions ended up winning.
Babacar Fall and teammates have set themselves the goal of reaching at least the semi-finals for this World Cup.
The competition will take place from August 19 to 29, 2021.
