BEACH SOCCER WORLD CUP – Japan breaks Lions dream

No final for the Téranga Lions. Senegal were eliminated in the semifinals this Saturday by Japan (5-2). The Blue Samurai thus deprive the African champions of a first Beach Soccer World Cup final.

The Senegalese national team will not see the final of the Russian World Cup. Indeed, the adventure stops there for the men of Ngalla Sylla. After their feat against the reigning world champion, Portugal and the most successful country, Brazil, the Lions fell from above against Japan (5-2) which was also playing its first semi-final.

With the absence of three of its managerial players (Al Seyni Ndiaye, Mamadou Sylla and Mamour Diagne), Senegal did not have all its assets to rub shoulders with Japan, torturer of Tahiti in the quarterfinals.

Badly inspired, the six-fold champions of Africa have not found the necessary resources to overcome the Blue Samurai. As proof, the partners of Babacar Fall lost the last two decisive thirds (1-1, 3-1 and 5-2).

Certainly the disappointment is sizeable, but all is not yet over for the Lions. Senegal still has a chance to offer Africa its first world medal in the small final against Switzerland. A match scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m.

In addition, the grand final which will pit Japan against the host country, Russia, will also be played this Sunday, at 4.30 p.m.
