Captain Philip: 28-year-old Sierra Leonean Inventor Builds Beautiful Ship From Scrap

From trash to treasure – Sierra Leonean inventor called Philip l Tangabay, who specializes in building beautiful Kekeh, ships, 3D paper houses from scrap materials wowed the internet. The 28-year-old says he wishes to train young people and become captain someday.

“I have built so many things like kekeh, car etc but I like building ship because I am a ship lover and I also wish to be a captain someday,” Phillip told Salone Messenger in an interview. Philip l Tangabay, the Sierra Leonean inventor builds all kinds of bikes, Kekeh, ships and 3D house plans with unique designs for all purposes including those purposely built to aid the easy mobility of people.

In an interview with Salone Messenger, the inventor highlighted financial support as his major need. ‘I need advanced tools to work because I currently get most of what I use from trash and some I use my little savings to buy. I am looking for an investor to finance the expansion of the business because I need a workshop to train people and become captain someday,” he said.

He also noted his passion for what he does and wishes to impact society in his own small way. ”I just love the work, and I want to use my talent to help other people, particularly young people, My hope is someday present this work to the head at the Mediterranean shipping company, hopefully, get them to support me achieve my dream which is train other young people and become a pilot someday ” he added.

Philip l Tangabay reportedly discovered his love for gadgets as early as the age of 10. His creative sense has been recognized by netizens and widely circulated. He is part of the few inventors projecting the image of Sierra Leone and Africa at large.
