Victor Osimhen meets Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following Galatasaray’s victory in the Turkish Süper Lig.

After Galatasaray secured their record-extending 25th league title on May 18, 2025, President Erdoğan hosted the team to celebrate their achievement.

During the meeting, Osimhen, who played a pivotal role in the club’s success, met with the president and presented him with his jersey, a gesture that was warmly received by Erdoğan  .

Osimhen’s contributions were instrumental in Galatasaray’s triumphant season.

He scored the opening goal in the decisive 3–0 victory over Kayserispor, which clinched the title for Galatasaray.

Osimhen also netted 35 goals for Galatasaray across all competitions, setting a new record for the most goals scored in a single season by a foreign player in Turkey.

President Erdoğan publicly congratulated Galatasaray on their championship and expressed support for both the club and Osimhen as they prepare for the upcoming UEFA Champions League season.
