2021 FIBA AFROBASKET – Tunisia Retains Title

Tunisia wins the 30th edition of the Afrobasket 2021. In the final, the Carthage Eagles dominated Côte d’Ivoire by 78 to 75. They won their second title in a row, the third in their history.

A faultless course. This is what Tunisia managed to do during the 30th edition of the men’s Afrobasket Rwanda 2921. In this very close final, the Carthage Eagles won the first two quarters (25-18, 22-16) before Ivory Coast won the third and fourth quarters (25-18, 16-13 ). But Salah Mejri’s partners made the difference at the start of the game and were difficult to win by (78-75).

Thus, Tunisia succeeds itself and wins a third continental crown after 2011 and 2017.

Gorgui Sy Dieng, top scorer

Bronze medalist Senegal has been well served in individual awards. Author of 120 points and 63 rebounds, Gorgui Sy Dieng was elected top scorer of the tournament.
A distinction that rewards the XXXL performance of the member of Atlanta Hawks on the floor of Kigali Arena. The icing on the cake, the 31-year-old Lion is part of the 5 Major of the competition.
