28 years ago, Rwanda suffered one of the most brutal genocides the world has ever seen. Today, Rwanda has been named as the sixth safest country in the world and safest country in Africa for solo travellers. The country is the only African country in the list published by Usebounce.
Usebounce is a luggage storage app, that created the ranking by combining a crime index and a safety index to evaluate where solo travellers would feel safest. These indexes were made using data from Numbeo. Switzerland topped the ranking, followed by Japan in second position. Slovenia, Georgia, Iceland, Croatia, Czechia, Austria and Denmark also made it to the top 10.
